students from Bao’an and their foreign teachers
would like to invite you to celebrate
the Spring Festival of Year of the Ox
by travelling around Shenzhen to discover
the fun and hospitality of the city.

众鹭舞翩跹
趁着寒假的悠闲时光
桃源居中澳实验学校的同学们
带着他们的外教Katarina
畅游宝安西湾红树林公园
感受这里的历史文化与风土人情
Xiwan has ecological beauty
with numerous herons dancing around.
During the leisure time of the winter holiday,
students from Shenzhen Arcadia Grammar School
took their foreign teachers on a tour to
Xiwan Mangrove Park in Bao’an
to experience the historical culture and local customs.
在西湾红树林公园
同学们带着Katarina游览了
锦庭印象、绮云书苑
南昌镜湖、固戍码头等景点
并为外教
详细讲解了其中的人文历史
In Xiwan Mangrove Park,
students showed Katarina around attractions
including Jinting Impressions,
Qiyun Academy, Nanchang Mirror Lake
and Gushu Wharf.
Meanwhile they explained related humanity histories
to their foreign teacher in details.

欣赏着落日潮汐、翩跹鹭鸟
讲起了红树林的由来和作用
Sitting by the beach and admiring the sunset,
the tide and the flying herons,
the students and Katarina talked about
the origins and the importance of mangroves.
红树林是对生活在海岸潮汐滩涂带的植物的总称，能防风消浪固岸护堤，对海水还起到净化作用，是候鸟迁徙重要的中转站。听着同学们的讲解，Katarina赞叹红树林就是“海岸卫士”。
Mangroves are the general term for the plants living on the tidal mudflats of the coast. Mangroves have many functions, such as preventing wind and waves, fortifying the bank, as well as purifying seawater. They form a unique mangrove ecosystem, an important stopover for migrating birds. Listening to the students, Katarina praised the mangroves as the “Coast Guards”.

The students took Katarina to learn about
the long history of Bao’an,
experience the local customs and appreciate
the beautiful scenery of Xiwan Mangrove Park.
Having witnessed the rapid development of
Shenzhen since the reform and opening-up,
they firmly believe that Shenzhen
and our motherland will have a brighter future!
